3. Applicable Law – Claims

Access to and use of AboutBatteries.com is subject to a full agreement of our terms and conditions.

It is the clients' full responsibility, be it a reseller or an individual, to review our terms and conditions before placing an order. All orders fall under French jurisdiction.

The contractual information is presented in French and the products sold on the site are in conformity with French law. In the case where the client is based abroad, it is his responsibility to check with the local authorities whether the item complies with the laws of his country. AboutBatteries.com may, in no way, be held responsible for non-compliance with foreign law.

This agreement, and any dispute, which arises from and out of this Web Site, shall be construed with the laws of France. Any legal action regarding this agreement or AboutBatteries.com may only be brought before of the judicial court of Strasbourg.


4. Item display

The characteristics of the products for sale are displayed on the internet website http://www.AboutBatteries.com (hereafter called "the site"). AboutBatteries.com cannot and does not guarantee the total accuracy of the photos.

AboutBatteries.com is not responsible for any errors contained on the site. This site and all of its content, including but not limited to the text and images used herein and their arrangement are protected by a worldwide copyright law. AboutBatteries.com does not authorize the use in part or in full of any trade name, trademark, registered trademark, logo, or any copyrighted material referenced herein for any purpose whatsoever, including non-commercial applications.

Any link towards AboutBatteries.com emanating from a third party site is strictly forbidden and subject to AboutBatteries.com legal representatives' approval.


5. Period of validity of items sold

The products are sold as long as stocks last. In the case where a client has ordered an unavailable product, he will be informed at the earliest opportunity by e-mail, fax or mail.


6. Pricing policy

Sales to individuals and non recorded companies

The prices mentioned on the site are in euros, all taxes included, and do not include shipping costs. Shipping costs and VAT appear on the screen at the end of the clients' selection process.

Sales to registered resellers (using a coded access to a secured account)

The prices mentioned are exclusive of taxes and shipping costs. Shipping costs and VAT appear on the screen at the end of the customers' selection process.

AboutBatteries.com reserves the right to modify its prices at any moment, the items ordered will be invoiced at the price stated at the moment of ordering.

All purchases made through AboutBatteries.com are subject to VAT. Only Swiss residents, residents from the overseas departments and territories as well as companies based in the euro zone and who communicate their intra-Community VAT number may be VAT exempt. Customs dues and any import duties and charges are at the customers' expense.


7. Orders

The customer accepts our general terms of business at the moment he is asked to choose a mode of payment.

The customer accepts the order process and the present general terms of business, then he confirms the order by email; this confirmation summarizes all the details of the order.

AboutBatteries.com sends a second email the day the goods are dispatched to inform the customer. The data recorded by AboutBatteries.com constitute a proof of the nature, content and date of the order.

AboutBatteries.com saves all orders in an archive file. The customer may access that file by contacting the Customer Service by e-mail. Concerning orders faxed through by companies, only AboutBatteries.com pro-forma invoices or quotations signed by a legal representative with the mention « Agreed, read and approved » with the company's stamp will be accepted.


8. Payment

Payment may be made in three ways:

  • By Credit Card debited on the day the order is dispatched. AboutBatteries.com is a secured site having opted for the SSL cryptosystem. In the case where one or several of the items are unavailable, payment will be taken on the day the order is dispatched and not on the day on which the order was recorded.
  • Check, cashed on the day the order is dispatched. The check, made out to AboutBatteries.com, must be attached to the pro-forma invoice which appears on the customers' screen at the end of the order process. The order will be processed and dispatched when payment in full in euros by check has been made and joined to the corresponding AboutBatteries.com pro-forma invoice. In the case where one or several of the items are unavailable, the check will be cashed no earlier than the day the first item is dispatched and not on the day the check was received.
  • Bank transfer: A bank transfer must be made for the full amount of the order which appears on the pro-forma invoice at the end of the order process. The order will be processed and dispatched when payment in full has been received. Any additional bank fees that may apply are the sole responsibility of the customer. The AboutBatteries.com order number must be transmitted to us with the bank transfer in order to ensure the proper application of funds to the transaction.

9. Late payment (resellers only)

In compliance with section L441-6 of the commercial code, penalty interest for late payment will be applied starting on the day following the date of payment mentioned on the invoice in the case where payment is made after that date. The interest rate is twice the legal interest rate.

10. Delivery times

The purchaser bears the risks related to the shipment. The purchaser must inspect the contents of the shipment for completeness and damage in the presence of the parcel service — ColiPoste or FedEx. In case of incomplete or damaged shipment, the purchaser must accept the shipment with the customary reservations and report the damage to the transport company.

The purchaser must inform the AboutBatteries.com Customer Service within 24 hours by contacting:

  • Two working days minimum in mainland France
  • Delivery times applicable in the other countries within the euro zone ( as well as Corsica, overseas department and territories, Switzerland and the United Kingdom)

and this starting on:

  • The date of order paid by credit card before 4 PM
  • The date payment by check or bank transfer is received by AboutBatteries.com.

AboutBatteries.com is not responsible for any damages resulting from mishandling by the carrier. Any damaged or missing items should be noted on the waybill and the customer should inform AboutBatteries.com Customer Service within 24 hours

Any return is at the customer's expense. Additional fees will be applied in the following cases:

  • Any registered shipping carton which has not been collected by the customer in due time and has been returned to AboutBatteries.com as a result will be dispatched again and the customer will be charged 8 euros.
  • Any shipping carton having to be resent due to erroneous information provided by the customer will result in the customer being charged 8 euros.

11. Shipping delays

Without prior agreement with the customer by:

If the order has not been dispatched within 30 days of the date of order or should it be impossible to supply the order for whatever the reason, AboutBatteries.com will inform the customer by e-mail, fax or lettter at the earliest opportunity.

The order will then be considered as cancelled and any payments the customer may have made will be refunded by check in euros within 30 days maximum.


12. Unforeseeable circumstances

AboutBatteries.com can in no way be held responsible in the case of unforeseeable circumstances among which an internal or external strike, catastrophies of any sort, delays in our restocking or any other event preventing a normal processing of the order.

14. Product guarantees

AboutBatteries.com offers its customers a 6 month guarantee which takes effect on the date of invoice. To return an item, a return authorization number issued by AboutBatteries.com is necessary.

Any costs linked to the return are at the customer's expense. In the case of an erroneous delivery, costs linked to the return will be refunded up to the amount of 7 euros. Refund will be made upon presentation of the original invoice issued by La Poste.

During the entire life span of the product, the customer has the possibility to apply the guarantee against latent defects in accordance with Civil Code Section 1641.

The company AboutBatteries.com disclaims responsibility for any damage resulting from the use of power source which do not conform to the specifications required by the original manufacturer. Examples of poor handling to avoid:

  • Do not put into contact the two poles of a battery (+,-) with a metal of any kind
  • Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures –20°, +60°)
  • Do not expose the battery to fire or any extreme source of heat. Explosions may result from this exposure and induce very serious lesions.
  • Battery charging time should never exceed 12 hours. An excessive charging time could result in surcharge and adversely affect the performances and life span of the product.
  • Never leave a battery immersed in liquid, stocked in the rain or a humid place.
  • Do not leave a battery for any length of time without being used. Make it go through a charge / discharge cycle every sixty days at least. Always follow the instructions recommended by the manufacturer carefully for loading and maintenance of the original equipment.
  • Do not remove the label showing the technical characteristics of the product and/or the AboutBatteries.com logo featured at the back.
  • If one of these labels came to be missing in the case of a return, you could no longer take advantage of the guarantee.

Failure to follow these precautions may void guarantee by AboutBatteries.com Technical Service Department


15. Revocation right

Only private individuals have a right of return within 14 days of receipt of the shipment.

The product must be sent back within 14 days at the purchaser's cost.

The purchase price will be reimbursed within 14 days after receipt of the return at AboutBatteries.com.


16. Data privacy

The personal data provided by the client are not disclosed to a third party; and unless the client expressly objects, they are integrated into AboutBatteries.com client archive.

According to the law 78-17 of January 6, 1978, amended August 6, 2004, the customer has at any time a right of access and rectification. To exercise this right, simply contact AboutBatteries.com Customer Service:
